Minmetals held a grand opening ceremony for Minmetals Yingkou Industrial Park on September 29th. Li Keqiang, secretary of Liaoning CPC, met President Zhou Zhongshu and his delegation in Shenyang. Mr. Zhou made a detailed introduction about the preparatory work and investments in the Park. Mr. Li sent his congratulations on the opening of the Park and appreciated the progress made since the conclusion of the frame contract for economic and technical cooperation between Minmetals and Liaoning Province in August 2006. He fully acknowledged the achievements in attraction of investments in the Park. He also said that the Provincial Government will continue its support to China Minmetals’ investments and business development in Liaoning.

President Zhou Zhongshu, Xu Weiguo, executive vice-governor of Liaoning Province, Cheng Yajun, secretary of Yingkou CPC, Mr. Jean-Pierre Dupreu, executive vice-president of Air Liquide, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Air Liquide, Kanematsu Corporation and Lead REITS Asset Management Corporation signed agreements separately with the Park to make cooperation. The three enterprises will invest over RMB6 billion yuan in years ahead.

Vice-presidents Zhang Yuanrong, Xu Siwei, Wang Qingtang and Chief Accountant Shen Ling, Zhao Huaming, mayor of Yingkou, officials from Liaoning Province and Yingkou, the Yingkou Coast Industrial Base, Kanematsu Corporation, Lead REITs Asset Management Corporation, MetalOne and leaders from Minmetals’ functional departments, business units and subsidiaries overseas, were present at the Ceremony.
